too many projects?

I feel like I've got too many projects going on and I'm not working enough on any of them.

Also, I've been slacking about taking photos...I have just a few today.

First up, another set of sections on the tiger have been completed:

It looks like a few bits of leaf, but see that white up at the top?  That's his chin!  It will be a while before I get any more actual tiger parts to sew, but that felt good!

Bird construction continues.  I finished the last set of ten and cut out another set.

And then promptly abandoned them.  I'll get back to them, I promise.

The kitties have a window perch (okay, they have three) that is a frame with a fabric "sleeve" stretched over it and then it screws into the windowsill and has legs that prop it up.  The cover was VERY gross.  And getting holey.  What to do?

Make a new one!  I shopped at Wal-Mart for this, so my options were more limited than what they would have been elsewhere, but I was in a mood to make it and wasn't going to drive 30 minutes each way for less than a yard of fabric.  As luck would have it, precuts were all that was available, so I now have a lot of extra.  But it was cheap.

I tore apart the old one, used it to draw a pattern, and in a short amount of time, had this!  (I actually spent more time getting the frame off and back onto the window, as well as cleaning the area under the frame, than I did sewing this.)  The kitties are happy, though they weren't willing to pose for me.

I also accepted another stash of fabric for cat hammocks.  This was the biggest one yet.  Maybe?  Five paper grocery sacks stuffed full.  Everything from quilt calicos from the 90s to outdoor decorator fabrics.  But I've been washing everything and if it makes it through that step, I'll give it a go to sew with.  I've lost count of the number of loads of laundry, but my shelf where the pile is stashed post-washing, pre-ironing and use is full and there are two more loads to add!

This isn't the greatest photo, but you can see a lot of variety in there.  I should have taken a photo before I started throwing things in the washing machine and making colored piles on the floor in front of it, but I was anxious to get this to the ready-to-sew stage.

My volunteer has authorized me to use anything for personal use and there are a few calicos that are pretty, but my stash does not need any enhancement!  There are quite a few pieces that are going to be too small, though, so we'll see where that leads...

I also, this weekend, picked up fabrics for the annual pillowcase gifts for my nieces, and though they were washed amid this chaos, I failed to take any photos yet.  Soon.

(I also set aside a few larger pieces of fun prints from the cat hammock stash that may be made into pillowcases for the cat people to use at their adoption events.  Anything to drive donations, right?!)

Off to lunch with some friends!

Happy quilting!
Katie

When I had too many projects going (like now), I put a few of them on the “back burner,” and then just worked on the others. Each time I finished one, I added one from the back burner. I still have just as many projects, but at least the ones on the back burner aren’t yelling at me all the time.
