all in a weekend's work

On Friday I was 8 blocks behind on my block challenge.  Assuming I want to catch up on those days I didn't work but also didn't sew any blocks.  By today, I'm only 4 behind...of course there were two days in there that I didn't work...

I sewed 6 blocks.  Four on Saturday, two on Sunday.  So I'm assigning these days to catch up...

Another Star

I'm planning to set these on point and the alternate blocks will be a green square bordered by white.  With a 6" border around everything, it will be twin-sized, so yay!  I have quite a bit of the green left and wanted to be able to feature it a bit more than just a border, so here's to hoping it looks good when I'm through!

All the blocks together, in no particular order:

That needs rearranging for more balance!  And the last one to get color got purple...not such good planning, but I'm sure it will be fine.

I did buy another iron.  Just like the one that quit yesterday, which I liked, but hesitated to spend $20 on because I'm not sure this one will last any longer than the first one.  But it has a stainless steel faceplate, not non-stick, which glides really nicely.  I'm going to try to take better care of this one (not leave it on the wobbly ironing board where it can easily fall off...though it hadn't hit the floor between Wednesday when it worked and Saturday when it didn't...maybe a trip off the ironing board will help?) and hope it lasts longer.

Off to make dinner.  Blueberry pancakes, sausage links and scrambled eggs.  While not a big fan of breakfast in the morning, it's just fine for dinner and the hubby, who LOVES breakfast altogether, is a happy man.

Happy quilting,
Katie

PS  My mom's birthday is this week, so I'm going to make her a cheesecake and take it next Saturday.  I'm going to do my best to remember to get a photo of the new recipe and share with you how it turns out.

Great catch-up! They are going to look fantastic on point with the white borders. We have breakfast for lunch - bacon and eggs, sometimes with sausages. Still haven't come to terms with Americans fondness for sweet and savoury in the same course but I'd never pass on blueberry pancakes!

Well, at least somebody got to sew this weekend! I started and then decided to clean up the sewing room. Still haven't put a stitch in since Friday morning! Your quilt is going to be very interesting!

You really got caught up on your blocks. I knew you could if you wanted to. I really like that green fabric. It looks good with so many colors. That will be a happy quilt for someone. Great job.

Your blocks look wonderful together. Green is not my favorite color, but the green fabric with the little flowers is adorable!

That will make a great quilt! DH & I are on a diet, so I have to skip the parts about food.
