Many of you are probably celebrating today with a bunny...not so much around here...it's more of an argyle day for me!
This morning I got up ready to quilt and started with these:
(needed ironing still)
(quickly done in QuiltPro3 (program from 1999!) to get an idea of scale for those argyle stripes and overall quilt size)
By lunchtime I had this:
On my downstairs design floor, with the ever-present supervisor.
At this point, I started worrying about that circle print...is it too much? It's a little too late, but maybe the orange argyle stripes will help?
So now it's almost dinnertime and here's where I am at (I even took time out to watch a movie!):
Rows!
(And another of the ever-present inspectors on my upstairs design floor.)
I think the orange is going to tone down the circles enough. I was going to use that circle print for an outer border, but seeing how bold they are, I'm rethinking that. I suppose I'll have border auditions when the rows are together.
I'm excited with how fast it's come together.
The whole time I've been working on this, I've been smiling. I had an aunt who had Down's Syndrome and she was a hoot. She referred to her argyle socks as gargoyle socks. So maybe today should be gargoyle day instead?
Happy quilting,
Katie

What a gorgeous black cat! You're right - the orange does pull the circle fabric into line, but yeah, you probably wouldn't want more in the borders. I love border auditioning - it always amazes me how different fabrics on the border(s) can change the whole look of the quilt.
Happy Argyle Day! Your quilt is looking terrific - the orange brings it together. You have done a super job! Ann :-)
I think it looks fantastic. The circles are not too much, and the orange pulls it all together. Plus, the cats seem to approve! A very productive day.

Geez, you work so fast! That design doesn't look difficult but it has a lot of impact. Love it! Why don't you call it the Gargoyle quilt, LOL?
