...and I need your help!
I've been scratching my head for quite a while now, trying to come up with a good name for this quilt. Often I don't actually name quilts, but since this one is going to be donated for a fundraiser, I feel it needs a name.
It will be donated to a Relay for Life team, to be raffled off as a fundraiser.
Relay for Life, for those of you who aren't familiar, is an American Cancer Society fundraiser. There are relays held all over the country, at high schools and local parks. Teams raise funds and then walk for 24 straight hours - having at least one team member out walking at all times. There are all sorts of silly things that go on (a pajama contest, crazy music, and karaoke to name a few), but there's a seriousness underlying it all, too.
So I want a name that reflects both the brightness of the quilt, but the seriousness of the event. And I struggle to name cats...
So I went onto the Relay for Life website and googled synonyms for "hope" to see what I could find...
For "hope," I liked "bright side" and "believe."
From the RFL website, a few things caught my eye.
"Cancer never sleeps"
(which is why the relay goes on 24 hours).
"Celebrate"
"Remember"
"Fight Back"
three themes that happen during the relay
and the three words "healing, comfort and support"
I believe that "Celebrate, Remember, Fight Back" will end up on the label for sure, but the actual quilt name is still evading my brain.
I've thought of
"The Bright Side Quilt"
and
"Quilt of Hope"
but neither quite captures what I feel in my heart.
And though this quilt is to support cancer research, treatment and whatever else the American Cancer Society does, it may or may not go to someone who has had their life touched by cancer.
So this is where I need some help! I know you're all creative and wonderful people, so I'm hoping you can help me out of my brain freeze.
And when I finally name the quilt, I'll label it and show photos (because I have them, but need a post title - aka quilt name).
Happy quilting!
Katie

Oh, love the colors! They are just luscious. I like plain old "Bright Side". It is short, descriptive and to the point.
Liri
It reminds me of a roll of Lifesavers.
To add just a bit to Liri's suggestion, what about "Look On The Bright Side" ---- with "Celebrate, Remember, Fight Back" as a sub title centered underneath. The quilt is beautiful! I'm hoping it will bring in lots of money for the cause. ---"Love"
Which ever name you choose, either Liri's or Loves. It is certainly a beautiful bright quilt and going for a wonderful cause. Hope it brings a great donation. Connie204
WoW! Thanks for this post. I am a cancer survivor and have a relay team too. I am working on a quilt project for my team to raffle off and will be posting about it later this week. I love the brightness of this quilt. I would call it 'Live Rainbow Sherbert Dreams'. I am always encouraging others with cancer to just live and survivors to follow their dreams. And this quilt just looks like yummy rainbow sherbet. And to be honest it needs to have a fun name that will make survivors smile.
I like "Bright Side". I love the cheerful colours in this quilt. I'm sure it will sell lots of raffle tickets.
I like Love's idea best, it really says it all. When I first saw the picture, I thought of rainbow sherbert, too, and a roll of lifesavers describes it just right. It is a beautiful quilt and I hope it brings in a good price at the raffle.
Love the quilt and I thought of rainbow sherbert too. I vote for Love's name. Lifesavers. Really does fit the event.
I'm no good with names, but I like "Bright Side" or "Lifesavers."
I'm terrible at naming things too...but Lifesavers is cool;) Fit's the coloring perfectly;)
Happy Quilting!!
Beautiful! I like Lifesavers, too. Bright Hope also comes to mind.
