I love sprouts on my sandwiches, but they go bad so fast and cost so much, I rarely buy them. Well, a few weeks Judy L over at Patchwork Times showed me how to grow my own! I had some dried lentils in the pantry left over from another dish, so I thought I'd try it...
I let them grow a few more days before storing in the fridge.
I tasted them before adding to my sandwich tonight, just to make sure they were good and I love them! A different flavor from the sprouts I've found at my grocery store, but delicious! And essentially free!
If you like sprouts, I encourage you to try this. Super easy!
(And my leftover lentils had been in the pantry a while...)
And now I'm working on quilting the first of the two twin quilts. Both are basted and ready to go, so I should have them done in no time.
(And I'm hoping for a break in this hot weather so I can put bindings on without suffocating under the quilts!)
Happy quilting,
Katie
That is a good idea for the sprouts.
ReplyDeleteHope it cools off a bit so you can quilt in comfort!
Amazing! Who'd a'thought it? I may have to try that someday. ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteJust crank up the air conditioning...tell the hubby you are pre-aclimating for the winter ahead;)
ReplyDeleteI love sprouts too, but I can never find any in "edible" condition at the store. I think that these grocers have no idea that we like our product alive and well;)
Happy Quilting!!
Aren't they clever! ann...
ReplyDeleteWow, great idea. Connie204
