That block is very unusual to say the least! But it will look good when it's all put together, I'm sure. I'm curious about your house. What year was it built? Can you post a picture of it? Is is out in the country? or did a town grow up around it? My DS#1 lives in an old farm house which is in town now built in about 1882, I think. It doesn't have central heat or A/C and they have a large fireplace in the kitchen that they burn wood in to heat that part of the house. They do have some in wall heaters for certain rooms.Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11912222251238739813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6605465310469342226.post-81760875046978063082018-01-13T22:08:19.089-05:002018-01-13T22:08:19.089-05:00Here's hoping that your sewing room is warmer ...Here's hoping that your sewing room is warmer this weekend!!The Joyful Quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10706614750500929214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6605465310469342226.post-52548984047484067002018-01-13T21:37:06.213-05:002018-01-13T21:37:06.213-05:00You should be thrilled with your cats quilt - it i...You should be thrilled with your cats quilt - it is wonderful!Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14826354433338717185noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6605465310469342226.post-82791323630299148212018-01-13T21:29:12.110-05:002018-01-13T21:29:12.110-05:00I think this quilt will need to be viewed as a who...I think this quilt will need to be viewed as a whole rather than individual blocks, so wait and see how it plays with others. I sooo miss last Thursday (well, the weather part of it anyway) :(. My sewing room is usually kind of chilly when I go in, but after the iron and the sewing machine and, oh yeah, the overhead light have been on for a bit, it starts to warm up and sometimes gets too warm. But I also find that it can be chilly in the living room/ long arm space but after quilting for it, it warms up - again, sometimes too much. I hope you're bringing the cat quilt to a meeting SOON.Carol R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05346526955385686775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6605465310469342226.post-10059629548049968602018-01-13T18:37:49.845-05:002018-01-13T18:37:49.845-05:00You know it’s cold when you look forward to ironin...You know it’s cold when you look forward to ironing to warm up a bit.
